2023 marks the 11th edition of the Canada-Italy Innovation Award, an initiative of the Canadian Embassy in Italy born in 2013 with the aim of strengthening the ties between the two countries in the fields of Science, Technology, Innovation and Science Social.
The call is aimed at Italian experts, researchers, scientists, startups, creative industries professionals and innovators interested in developing and deepening their research with Canadian colleagues and counterparts.
The call for applications is concentrated on projects and research in priority areas for the Government of Canada, as well as for Italy. The priority areas identified this year are:
- Mental health
- Collection and recycling of critical minerals
- Production, storage and transport of hydrogen, as a source to combat climate change
- Quantum technology
- Prevention of gender-based violence
The Prize consists of the reimbursement of expenses incurred for a trip to Canada up to a maximum of €3,000 to meet the Canadian partner and develop the project. In recent editions, the Prize has met with great success with a growing number of applications from all over Italy and characterized by a high scientific-academic level.
The deadline for submitting applications is April 3, 2023. The winners will be announced on May 16, 2023.
