Applications are open for the Build Design of the Italian Pavilion in Osaka 2025

The Farnesina has announced that the international tender procedure for the design and construction of the Italian Pavilion that will rise on the site of Expo 2025 Osaka, which will open in Japan on April 13 and end on October 13, 2025, has just been launched. “Designing the Future Society for our Lives” is the theme of the next Expo in 2025 in Osaka which places the human being at the center of development and innovation with the aim of creating a great event centered on the humanism of science of life, economic and social policies, technologies and the digitization of learning, information and communication systems. The theme of the Italian Pavilion will be “Art regenerates life“.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani indicated that “We want to bring Italian know-how and Italian art to Osaka, interpreted in its many forms in the broadest possible sense, as creative human action, the fruit of inspiration, bearer not only of innovation but also of fundamental values ​​for the future of human and social relations”.

The tender procedure – with an auction base of €16,250,000.00 and a maximum value of €24,000,000.00 – was announced by Invitalia as Central Purchasing Office on behalf of the Commissioner General of the Section for the participation Italian at Expo 2025 Osaka. The deadline for submitting bids is May 4th.

The deadline within which interested economic operators may request clarifications is Monday 24 April 2023. The conclusion of the procedure is scheduled for next July, with the awarding of the contract which will include the conception and development of the concept and the exhibition layout, the creation of the “general design” (first-level planning) and the “final design” (second and final level design), as well as construction, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, and the option of dismantling.
