Conference for the 75th NATO’s anniversary in Rome

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the signature of NATO Treaty, held in Washington on 4 April 1949, the SIOI Italian Society for International Organization organized it in Rome on 15 and 16 April, in collaboration with the Public Diplomacy Division of the Secretariat, an international conference to explore the main topics concerning NATO. 

At the conference, on 15 April, there will be the greeting from the Council of State, with the intervention of members of the Senate and Chamber and the president of Parliament and the NATO ministers, Foreign Affairs Tajani and Defense Crosetto. Also foreign and Italian academics representing various fields will join (politicians, universities, diplomats, soldiers, researchers, journalists and young Italians and from abroad). In the afternoon of the 16th, the deputy secretary general of NATO, Mircea Geoana, and the ambassadors Permanent presentation at the North Atlantic Council in Brussels interspersed with the conference at the end of a long visit to Italy.

The conference, which intends to contribute to creating the premises for a new transatlantic architecture of science in a moment of greater drama on the international level, will be divided into an in-depth session on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the future of Russia, the discovery and difference in an unpredictable security environment, the difference in democracy, individual freedom and the state of affairs, new security and competition, stability in the Balkans and the Black Sea, security in the Mediterranean and Gulf regions.
