The call for papers is open for issue 5 of “Quaderni Culturali IILA“, the international journal created in 2018 by the Cultural Secretariat, with the aim of publishing studies and analyzes on Latin American art and culture from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The theme of the new call for papers is “Critical views on Latin American comics“. In recent years, the cultural impact and potential of the Latin American comic language have begun to be valued through the organization of congresses and seminars, specialized magazines and the creation of professorships dedicated to their study. In these cases, the creation and expansion of the canon, the status of comics in academia, and the tensions that arise when approaching it critically were discussed. This issue of Quaderni Culturali focuses on Latin American comics, considering their different cultural manifestations.
