50 years of Mummenschanz
The Mummenschanz, nicknamed “Les musiciens du silence“, return as guests of the season of the Roman Philharmonic Academy, at the Teatro Olimpico, from 31 January to 5 February, led by its founder Floriana Frassetto to celebrate half a century of glorious artistic career, opening their new Italian tour which will continue in the cities of Verona, Pordenone, Milan, Salerno and Como.
The public will be catapulted into a fantastic and poetic journey. The transformation becomes an art form in which silence is a great protagonist. The ordinary becomes extraordinary, everyday objects come alive with unexpected perspectives, giving them new life. A playful, interactive, poetic tale, punctuated by small sketches, aimed at everyone, adults and children, and where fun, sweetness, poetry and above all fantasy are the real protagonists.
“My heart is full of joy, pride and gratitude – says Floriana Frassetto -, because what Bernie Schürch, Andres Bossard and I created fifty years ago still continues today to amaze and make audiences laugh all over the world. Our form of expression, a theatrical game made of masks, shapes and lights, is one of a kind. I am happy to still inspire people of different cultures today with our playful and poetic art, devoid of voice but full of imagination, awakening the boy or girl in each of you“.
