Beyond the present, the archeology of tomorrow

From 23 May to 8 September 2024 at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere will host Claudia Peill’s exhibition “Beyond the present. Archeology of tomorrow”, in which the artist’s latest production (2019-2023) will be presented, consisting of sixteen large and small canvases, as well as some mixed media drawings on paper.

The exhibition, curated by Giorgia Calò, is promoted by Roma Capitale, Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, with the museum services of Zètema Progetto Cultura.

The exhibition aims to explore the hidden and often overlooked essence of some elements that distinguish the appearance of a city, becoming silent witnesses of its history, from the era of industrialization to the traces of the past that still permeate the urban fabric. In this case, the artist’s gaze is turned to the ground, towards the street manholes, apparently sterile objects but which in reality retain a tangible memory, made up of writings and decorative elements that can tell different aspects of the urban context.
