Orientiamoci s and il Centro Studi Geopolitica.info, together with the Antonio Megalizzi Foundation, organized the event entitled "European elections: instructions for use" on 21 May from 2.30pm to 7.00pm at Europe Experience David Sassoli. The event will be an opportunity to actively debate various topics in view of the European elections on 8 and 9 June 2024.
The reflections will start from the concepts of voting and democracy, interconnected and of great relevance in our society today.
An excursus will then be presented on how we arrived at the characteristics of current democracy with its most relevant challenges, as well as answering the question "what do we vote for" as European citizens. During the event, themes related to the European Union will be explored in depth, from its origins to its current characteristics, from policies to institutions, passing through its founding values.
We will also delve deeper into the importance of the electoral appointment, addressing the challenges that the next legislature will have to face, as well as a toolkit to understand and receive the best tools to be correctly informed.
Finally, you will be able to concretely experience the work of the institutions by participating in a simulation of the European Parliament: legislative proposals, parliamentary groups and commissions, plenaries, debates.
