Exhibition Haya Kim “Serendipity”

Haya Kim’s solo exhibition curated by Anna Isopo will be inaugurated on Saturday 20 April 2024 at 6.00 pm at Arte Borgo Gallery, with commentary by art historian and critic Martina Scavone. Haya Kim makes her debut in the Capital with her first solo exhibition. The exhibition will continue until May 9, 2024.

Born in 1991 in South Korea, Haya Kim moved to Flint Hills, Kansas, United States in 2010. In 2018, she got her Master of Fine Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art – LeRoy E. Hoffberger (Baltimore, Maryland) . She currently lives and works in New York. Memory and the surrounding nature are Haya Kim’s main sources of inspiration.

Her artistic creations develop through an abstract and extremely delicate story embellished by her internal reflection, creating a unifying thread that connects the whole of his work. The brush moves freely on the surface, letting the colors blend and dance together in a fluid and elegant motion that clearly derives from the oriental landscape painting typical of the artist’s cultural roots. The instinctive and liberating gestures typical of Abstract Expressionism and the celebration of sentiment and the sensation of sublime children of Romanticism come together to create scenarios capable of arousing an extraordinary visual and emotional impact in the viewer.
