Festival Cabanes Villa Medici 2023 edition

The second edition of the Cabanes festival will be held from 24 May to 1 October at Villa Medici. Many initiatives will take place during the festival period. Temporary installations, micro-architectures, proto-houses: seven original creations of “huts” will find space throughout the summer in the heart of the gardens of Villa Medici!

Exhibited outdoors for four months, these structures, often made with recycled materials or as part of an eco-responsible approach, offer the public a renewed experience of the gardens of Villa Medici and invite them to rethink the theme of modular and sustainable housing and our relationship with nature.

Through the utopia of the “hut”, the collectives take up the challenge of conceiving projects intimately linked to the historical heritage of Villa Medici, while remaining sensitive to contemporary architectural and environmental issues.

The huts will host workshops, readings, musical performances, sports lessons and workshops throughout the summer.
