S(O)LOLIBRI

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Rome, in collaboration with the Center for Slovenian as a Second Language and Foreign Language of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Ljubljana – together with the Slovene departments of the Universities of Naples, Padua, Rome, Trieste and Udine, invites the SV to the Festival of Contemporary Slovenian Literature, which will be held entirely online.

The event, symbolically entitled “S (O) LOLIBRI” (Slovenian books/books only), will take place from 7 to 28 March 2022. Every Monday in March between 18:00 and 19:00 it will be possible to participate online to the presentations of some literary works that have also been translated into Italian in the last two years. The novels Panorama (trad. It. Panorama) by Dušan Šarotar, Belo se pere na devetdeset (trad. It. White washed at ninety) by Bronja Žakelj and Glas noči (trad. It. Lampreht) by Kazimir Kolar will be presented. On the occasion of World Poetry Day on March 21, the Italian translation of Ace Mermolja’s collection of poems Čivk duše will be presented. The literary evenings will be moderated by some Italian students of Slovenian and will see as main guests the Italian translators of the aforementioned volumes: Patrizia Raveggi (March 7), Michele Obit (March 14), Darja Betocchi (March 21) and Lucia Gaja Scuteri (28 March).

The opening of the online literary festival will take place on March 7th. with the introduction of the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Italy H.E. Tomaž Kunstelj.

The literary dialogues with some of the most important Italian translators of the moment will take place on the dates scheduled from 18:00 to 19:00 at this LINK
