Inauguration of the exhibition about Pietro Vannucci known as “Il Perugino” at the University of Galway

On Monday the 27th February 2023, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador, Ruggero Corrias, an exhibition of 15 educational panels in English has illustrated the figure of Pietro Vannucci, a painter known as “Il Perugino” 500 years after his death.

The exhibition – taking place in the Hardiman Research Building, University of Galway in collaboration with the Italian section of the University – includes the reproduction of a series of paintings and captions that tell the story of the painter, active in Florence during the Medici period, between the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century, where Verrocchio, Ghirlandaio, Sandro Botticelli, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo also worked.

The materials are designed and created by Stefano Baldi and exhibited for the occasion in various IIC locations around the world.

The free exhibition will be open throughout the month of March.
