Institutional visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev

After participating in the recent summit between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia, which took place on June 2 in Cholpon Ata in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be on an official visit to Italy on June 8 and 9.

A dense network of institutional meetings is planned in the capital for the Uzbek mayor, to try to strengthen relations with our country, also in view of the next summit between Europe and Central Asia which will be held in Uzbekistan. In the last summit in Kyrgyzstan, President Mirziyoyev underlined how bilateral and multilateral relations have led to the promotion of important projects in the field of digitalisation, communications and transport, energy and water management, including those in the context of the Global Gateway strategy with the European partners, for the creation of a sustainable energy system in Central Asia and on vocational training.

Mirziyoyev also said that events such as the civil society forum in Tashkent in March, the second economic meeting in Almaty and the annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Samarkand held last month are demonstrations of great positive and qualitative changes due to dialogue with eu partners
