Liberation Day in Rome

Liberation Day is celebrated in Italy on 25 April, the commemoration of Italy’s liberation from Nazi-fascism, with the end of the Nazi occupation and the fall of fascism. The date was chosen because on 25 April 1945 the insurrection of the population in the occupied regions took place, considered the final act of the Resistance which began on 8 September 1943.
