March 21st is World Poetry Day

On the occasion of World Poetry Day, the EUNIC Cluster of Rome, National Cultural Institutes of the European Union, in collaboration and with the support of FUIS Federation of Italian Unitary Writers, promoted the XI edition of the poetry/reading evening “Europe in verse”. The event will be held on Thursday 21 March, at 6.30 pm, at the Hungarian Academy in Rome, Palazzo Falconieri.

The evening, moderated by Maria Ida Gaeta, vice-president of the Rome Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society, will be attended by: Margret Kreidl for Austria, Alexandrina Valenti for Bulgaria, Inge Braeckman for Flanders, Sacha Piersanti for Italy; Patricija Gudeikaitė for Lithuania; Malgorzata Lebda for Poland; Margarida Vale de Gato for Portugal; Kateřina Rudčenková for the Czech Republic; Ruxandra Cesereanu for Romania; Radoman Kanjevac for Serbia; MáriaFerenčuhová for Slovakia; Andreina Trusgnach for Slovenia; Luis Alberto de Cuenca for Spain; Matteo Ferretti for Switzerland; OksanaStomina for Ukraine; Fekete wins for Hungary.

All the poems will be read by the poets in the original language, while the Italian translation will be projected simultaneously on a screen. The event received the patronage of the Italian National UNESCO Commission and the European Commission Representation in Italy.
