First master’s degree course in Gender studies, culture and politics for media and communication, new path established by Sapienza University of Rome as part of the educational offer for the academic year 2022/23.
The press conference, held in the Collegial Bodies Hall of the Rectorate in the presence of the ; Magnificent Rector Antonella Polimeni, saw the participation of the councilor; AGCOM Elisa Giomi Silvia Garambois, president of the association; GiULiA – Gornaliste Unite LIbere Autonome. The meeting was moderated; Fabio Lucidi , coordinator of the Scientific Technical Committee on Diversity and Inclusion della Sapienza.
The new degree is the first in the national context to combine the study of cultural, social, political and economic processes, on the basis of which gender-based imbalances and inequalities are produced, with the analysis and development of inclusive communication content and non-discriminatory.
Promoted by the Departments of Communication and Social Research, Modern Literature and Cultures and Psychology, the course adopts a multidisciplinary approach aimed at training professionals of media and communication capable of promoting gender sensitive representations and narratives in communicative and media processes and contents.
