The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) inaugurated its regional office for South America in Bogota in the presence of the director, Luca Maestripieri. The ceremony was also attended by the Italian ambassador in Colombia, Gherardo Amaduzzi and Mario Beccia who will be the director of the South American office. Representing Colombia instead, the director general of bilateral cooperation of the Colombian foreign ministry, Alvaro Caldern
During the inaugural event, Maestripieri declared his satisfaction at the opening of the new center by announcing cooperation projects involving eight nations of the Amazon region, with the aim of protecting biodiversity and preventing deforestation and fires.
