Presentation of “Fashioning the World. Sharing Knowledge, Building Communities”

The presentation of the project “Fashioning the World. Sharing knowledge, building communities” was held today in the Sala Senato of the Rectorate of the La Sapienza University, created in collaboration with the Expo 2030 Rome Committee. In the presence of the rector Antonella Polimeni and Lavinia Biagiotti and Giuseppe Scognamiglio, respectively vice president and general director of the Promoting Committee of Rome Expo 2030. Also present was Lamberto Mancini, director of the Expo Rome 2030 Foundation.

The project was born out of the activities of the international master’s degree course (Master) in Fashion Studies of the Department of History Anthropology Religions Performing Arts (Saras) and involves important Made in Italy brands, such as Valentino, BulgariCucinelli, BalestraBiagiotti, with the aim of exploring together the themes of intangible heritage, sustainability and enhancement of territories and communities. The project activities include the awarding of scholarships to international students coming from countries interested in joining the initiative, from Africa to Asia, to Latin America, to the Caribbean region. Selected students will have the opportunity to enroll in the master’s degree in Fashion Studies at Sapienza, directed by Romana Andò, project coordinator.

This was followed by a round table with representatives of the brands who shared the activity plan in support of Rome’s candidacy which will be developed in the coming months.
