Rome MED Dialogues Extraordinary Expert Meeting: Rethinking Security in the Middle East

ISPI and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will convene an extraordinary closed-door meeting of the Rome MED Dialogues on 4 and 5 February, which will bring together 100 experts from over 35 countries to discuss new and creative ways to help reduce the ‘escalate tensions and reduce the suffering of those affected by the current turmoil.

How to rethink security and peace prospects in the Middle East? Are regional conflicts reshaping global governance as the world enters a new era? What are the regional and global economic consequences of the war between Israel and Hamas? How to secure the Middle East to prevent further escalations in the region? And how to evaluate the role of energy and connectivity in promoting regional and global cooperation to build peace?

In this context, on 5 February the Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Antonio Tajani, will chair an economic session of the Rome MED Dialogues dedicated to businesses. The event will contribute – in the current geopolitical context made even more delicate by the ongoing crises – to enrich the exchange on the opportunities that the region presents in terms of growth, export promotion and internationalization.
