Screening Banksy at Farnese Palace

On the occasion of the imminent release of the docufilm “Banksy and the Trisite Girl” by director Edoardo Anselmi, the French Embassy is organizing a preview which will take place at Palazzo Farnese on Tuesday 7 November.

The sad girl is Banksy’s tribute to the victims of the Bataclan. In June 2018, Banksy made a stencil of a sad-looking Madonna and painted it in white paint on the emergency exit door of the Bataclan. That door “witnessed” the massacre of November 13, 2015 from start to finish, and was a gateway to safety for the few who managed to escape the terrorist attack by the jihadist group.

Today, after the discovery of the door in Italy on a farm in Abruzzo, the door returned to Paris where today it is the subject of a legal dispute between the owner of the property and the city of Paris, which claims ownership due to its historical significance to which it is connected.
