Tender for development cooperation for 180 million euros

The Notice of AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) has been published in the Official Journal in collaboration with the General Directorate for Development Cooperation of the Farnesina in favor of territorial bodies (Regions, Provinces, Municipalities and Metropolitan Cities) and civil society organizations, for a total value of 180 million euros (60 million in favor of local authorities and 120 million in favor of CSOs).

This is the call for development cooperation in this sector with the highest value in recent years and the first operational follow-up to the Mattei Plan for Africa which aims to make Italy the pivot of a series of interventions aimed at promoting the sustainable development of Partner Countries. 85% of the allocated resources will be allocated to the implementation of programs in countries on the African continent while the remaining 15% will be dedicated to other countries in the rest of the world, including Ukraine.

The notice can be consulted on the AICS website at the following link Transparency Portal Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – NOTICE 2023 for the granting of contributions to Initiatives promoted by Territorial Bodies and Civil Society Organizations (aics.gov.it). Proposals with complete documentation must be sent by the mandatory deadline of 6 May 2024.

This new initiative aims to support a cooperation that stands out for its quality, feasibility, and ability to leverage partnership, capitalizing on the heritage built together with civil society organizations and local authorities, recognized as subjects at the center of the action of the Italian Cooperation. The initiatives promoted by this Call will have to provide a concrete, measurable and effective contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal.
