The first European academy for young talents is born in Rome

Twenty-one young talents from seventeen countries and six continents, ten world-famous masters, ten scholarships, two of which are dedicated to Ukrainian artists. On Tuesday 31st May the “Opera for Peace Academy-Rome” was born, the first opera academy dedicated to peace and social justice in Europe. Promoted by the international organization “Opera for Peace” in collaboration with the University named after Guido Carli, the EIB – European Investment Bank, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the International Academy of Music and Art, Opera Europa, will be based in Rome, the city symbol of this art today officially nominated to become a World Heritage Site by Unesco. In the coming years, the academy will also be hosted in other European cities in order to carry its messages throughout the Old Continent.

At the inauguration event of the Academy, hosted at the Luiss University Campus in viale Pola 12, staged yesterday Tuesday 31 May from 17:00 with the title “Music for a sustainable Future“, there were all opera singers admitted to the first course: of the over 150 applications submitted by more than 43 countries, the twenty-one represent world excellence for the future of opera: aged between 21 and 36, they come from different countries such as Ukraine, Russia , France, the Republic of Benin, Mexico, South Africa, China, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam or the United States and will be able to follow the lessons of internationally renowned teachers including Thomas Hampson, Lawrence Brownlee, Ludovic Tezier, Damiano Michieletto, Angela Meade
