The mandate of Christian Masset ends, the ambassador takes leave of Rome

On the occasion of the French National Day which was held on Friday 14 July at Palazzo Farnese, the ambassador in office Christian Masset ends his mandate in the capital and takes his leave in front of a parterre of political and diplomatic personalities who have had the opportunity to know him during his tenure. Today he will leave Rome, after handing over the “keys” of Palazzo Farnese to Martin Briens whom he defined as “He is a career diplomat, young and highly trained and I recommend him!“, presenting him as his successor.

The words with which he said goodbye were taken from the French poet AndrĂ© Breton quoting his famous phrase “It hasn’t always been easy to understand you, but I will always love you”
