Torchlight procession for Navalny

Yesterday evening, February 19th, a candlelight vigil was organized in the Capitol in Rome in memory of Alexei Navalny, the Russian dissident and main opponent of Putin, who died in prison in Siberia on February 16th in circumstances that are not yet fully clarified.

Thousands of people, activists, politicians and representatives of humanitarian associations and institutions, including the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, reached Piazza del Campidoglio to remember Navalny and demonstrate their solidarity with his family who is now seeking justice, in defense of the principles of democracy and freedom.

All political forces took part in the solidarity demonstration without distinction of colors and parties.
